411 – In Network vs. Out of Network
When a Participant seeks health services from an Out-of-Network (OON) provider the OON coverage is 60% of the PWGA reasonable and customary cost, and there is an annual out of pocket maximum of $20,000. For In-Network (INN) provider services the PWGA covers 85% of the cost, with a $1,500 maximum out of pocket cost to the Participant. While your out of pocket cost exposure is an important consideration for opting to use INN providers, there are a number of other important reasons to utilize In-Network (INN) services vs. OON.
